Bock UK Brings Specialist Silage Clamp Solutions to the UK

Bock UK has delivered a number of silage clamps throughout the UK and is fast becoming recognised as the farmers’ choice

Earls Colne, Essex, UK (PRWEB UK) 30 January 2012

Milbank has been based in Essex for almost 60 years specialising in the supply and installation of precast concrete products and solutions working in construction, agriculture, coastal protection, railways and stadiums.

With 30 years’ experience, Milbank’s new German partner Böck Silosysteme GmbH is the only provider in the pan-European market to offer a product range of silage clamps and covers from a single source.

Following the introduction of a feed-in tariff for electricity and heat from renewable sources in 2010, the UK market for biogas plants is currently extremely buoyant and the company believes there will be significant UK demand.

Böck installed the UK’s first silage clamp of its kind at Future Biogas in Norwich and three more have quickly followed in partnership with Milbank due to its existing manufacturing capacity and long experience in the design, manufacture and installation of pre-cast silo solutions. In addition to the UK biogas sector, the partners are also expecting an increasing demand for pre-cast clamp solutions from the UK farming industry. Bock UK has delivered a number of silage clamps throughout the UK and is fast becoming recognised as the farmers’ choice.

Sean Milbank, Managing Director of Milbank is optimistic about the partnership and the future of Bock UK Ltd: “The collaboration between two strong partners means a win-win situation for both Milbank, Böck and, most importantly, our clients,” says Sean. “Bock UK Ltd will offer a turnkey solution as experts in silage clamp construction and covering solutions from one source. Although the Bock silo system (known in Germany as the traunsteiner silo system) is commonplace in Europe, it is only recently that the UK market has seen the benefits. We are delighted to be able to combine the experience and expertise of two industry specialists to offer our customers significant advantages.”

Bock UK will be exhibiting on Stand 27 at the Energy Now Expo at The Malvern Showground, Worcestershire on 15 and 16 February, 2012

Contact Bock UK email: bchalk(at)bock-uk(dot)com telephone: 01787 220560

Inspiration Through Fiction — Reviewers Say “Brightest Moon” Novel Brings Hope

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2009

As “The Alchemist” author Paulo Coelho has said, “Love can consign us to hell or to paradise. It always takes us somewhere.” His book has inspired millions.

Like The Alchemist’s protagonist, Edward Meopian in Christopher Meeks’s “The Brightest Moon of the Century” has his own eye-opening journey over years, taking him from Minnesota fields to a college dorm in Denver to a trailer park in Alabama and more, until he realizes, too, what is truth.

In this often-comic tale, Edward needs a place in the universe, but he also wants an understanding of women. He stumbles into romance in high school and college, whirls into a tornado of love problems as a mini-mart owner in Alabama, and aims for a film career in Los Angeles.

Importantly, readers and reviewers are discovering the delights and spirituality of The Brightest Moon of the Century. In these challenging economic times, we all need hope.

As the Minneapolis Star-Tribune wrote, “Meeks has managed to put together a thoughtful, fresh-feeling portrait of how we become who we are.”

Grady Harp, a top-ten reviewer at Amazon . c o m, says the novel “reaches out to the reader in a way that offers an honest invitation to relive our own growing years… Along the way in Edward’s journey, the author takes time to pause and offer poignant philosophy.”

“This is a quiet yet powerful piece of literature,” says Heather Figearo in the website Raging Bibliomania. “[Edward's] joy becomes your own, and his calamities compel you. This is a tremendous feat for an author.”

BookGeeks in England says, “Unpretentious and deeply human, the normalcy and everyman nature of the novel give it its power.”

Sam Sattler at Book Chase says, “Christopher Meeks has filled his story with enough interesting characters and episodes to remind just how limitless and filled with surprises even the most ordinary of lives can be.”

Marc Schuster in Small Press Reviews asserted in comparing Meeks’s novel to his previous short story collections, “I’ve gone from being an admirer of his work to a full-blown fan–bordering, perhaps, on groupie.”

Published only last month, the book keeps drawing readers and reviewers. To see all the reviews, go to Meeks’s author page at http://www.redroom . c o m/author/christopher-meeks. The book is available in many independent bookstores and a growing number of Barnes and Noble stores, as well as online.

SABR Brings Baseball’s Think Tank to Mesa, Ariz. for Inaugural Conference

SABR

Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) March 08, 2012

The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is on deck to host its inaugural baseball analytics conference in Mesa, Arizona, during the middle of the spring training season. The organization is the inspiration for the popular field of baseball statistical analysis, called sabermetrics. The SABR Analytics Conference, presented by Bloomberg Sports and Major League Baseball will take place at the Hilton Phoenix East/Mesa on March 15–17 and will bring together some of the top minds from the nationwide baseball analytic community. The three-day event will consist of numerous panels and research presentations paired with notable guest speakers scheduled throughout the conference.

The Mesa Convention & Visitors Bureau (Mesa CVB) reached out to SABR after their headquarters move to Phoenix last year. SABR hosted a conference during the Arizona Fall League last October and this gathering inspired the organization to plan a meeting of the minds in Mesa during spring training.

“Never before have as many of the top minds of the baseball analytics community come under one roof to discuss, debate and share insightful ways to analyze and examine the great game of baseball,” said SABR Executive Director Marc Appleman. “What better time and place to be putting on a baseball analytics conference than during spring training in Arizona.”

The conference is open to the public with registration and schedule available online at http://www.sabr.org. Speakers are expected to include Tom Ricketts, Chairman, Chicago Cubs; Derrick Hall, President/CEO, Arizona Diamondbacks; Mark Shapiro, President, Cleveland Indians; Chris Antonetti, Executive Vice President/General Manager, Cleveland Indians; Jerry Dipoto, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Los Angeles Angels; Doug Melvin, Executive Vice President/General Manager, Milwaukee Brewers; among others.

A unique component of the conference is the Case Competition that invites graduate students from area business schools and sports management programs, as well as undergraduates from across the country, to compete against each other by preparing an analysis and presentation of a real baseball operations decision — the type of decision a team’s GM and the type of decision a team’s GM and staff is faced with over the course of a season. To date, several universities are scheduled to participate including New York University; University of Chicago; Northwestern University; University of California-Berkeley; Arizona State University and Tufts University.

“We are excited that we have one more element to boast when it comes to the sport of baseball here in Mesa,” said Josh Todd, sports development manager for the Mesa CVB. “SABR has assembled a who’s who of behind-the-scenes baseball personnel to connect with some of the most incredible statistical fanatics from across the country. Attendees will be able to take part in the spring training experience and see how the Phoenix-metro region and our entire state has long supported this industry.”

Everlike Brings Crowdsourcing to Getting and Giving Answers To Life’s Biggest Questions

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 01, 2012

Ever wanted an opinion on what shirt looks better with jeans? How about if you should take a trip to Los Angeles or New York? A brand new website is taking getting advice to a new crowd-sourcing level. Now you can get opinions from an entire community of users at everlike and decide once and for all if that shirt really goes with your jeans.

“Everlike is the perfect place to put life’s biggest questions to the test and get a true answer,” said Robert Marhamat with everlike. “Maybe you’re not ready to get advice. Not a problem, everlike offers you the perfect way to give advice to questions from other users.”

Crowdsourcing sites such as everlike take common tasks commonly performed by individuals and opens them to entire online communities in an open call. Users at everlike are able to post questions directly on the website and solicit personal opinions from other users. The opinions are then crowd-sourced into one consensus for review by the poster.

“It’s an easy way to get a number of opinions in a very short period of time,” Marhamat said.

To post a question or provide advice, users need to have a Facebook or Google+ account. Once signed in, responding to questions is as easy a clicking a button to make a selection.

To post a question, users simply need to log into their Facebook or Google+ account and then click on “get advice”, then “ask a question”, followed by the response options to be selected.
