Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) March 5, 2009

Bumrungrad International is pleased to announce the launch of its 2009 “Great Chefs” program2009 “Great Chefs” program–now in its 10th consecutive year.

Over the past nine years, Bumrungrad International has showcased some of Thailand’s best restaurants and hotels through its Great Chefs program. This year, 12 of the country’s finest chefs, together with the hospital’s nutritionists and food service partner Sodexo, will create healthy menus representing “The Seven Amazing Wonders of Thailand.” The Great Chefs 2009 theme thus compliments the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s ‘Amazing Thailand’ campaign to promote the country internationally.

Every year Bumrungrad treats 1.2 million patients from over 190 countries. It is the most popular hospital destination for the world’s medical tourists.

“We introduced Great Chefs in 2000 to demonstrate that hospital food doesn’t have to be boring,” said Mr. Mack Banner, Bumrungrad’s CEO. “This year, we wanted to connect these expert chefs to what’s special about Thailand–for example, great beaches and delicious seafood. The TAT campaign offers a natural tie-in.”

The participating hotels include: Swissotel Le Concorde Bangkok, Pan Pacific Bangkok, Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok, Banyan Tree Bangkok, JW Marriott Bangkok, Pathumwan Princess, Amari Boulevard, Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa, Conrad Bangkok, Dusit Thani Bangkok, InterContinental Bangkok, and Courtyard By Marriott Bangkok.

Under the Great Chef program, top hotel chefs work with Sodexo, Bumrungrad’s food service partner, to design 12 special menus, each featured for one month of the year. These menus are available at no extra charge, giving patients the opportunity to sample creative dishes from Thailand’s culinary experts. The hospital serves over 1,000 Great Chef meals each month.

About Bumrungrad International

Bumrungrad International is one of the largest private hospitals in Southeast Asia, and was Asia’s first internationally accredited hospital. Named one of the world’s top 10 medical destinations by Newsweek magazine, Bumrungrad won the Award of Excellence in the category of Health Tourism at the 7th Thailand Tourism Awards last September.

2009 Saint Paul Almanac on Sale Online on Aug. 20

Cover of 2009 Saint Paul Almanac

Saint Paul, MN (PRWEB) August 18, 2008

Now in its third year, the Saint Paul Almanac is the only guidebook dedicated solely to Minnesota’s capital city. Including a calendar, date book, restaurant reviews, essays and poems about Saint Paul, the Almanac is a rich resource for anyone wishing to explore the cultural and social depths of Saint Paul throughout the year.

Contributors include notable Saint Paulites such as Garrison Keillor, Gordon Parks, Patricia Hampl, Carol Connolly, Jim Moore, Deborah Keenan, Mahmoud El-Kati, Phebe Hanson, and 75 other writers.

The 368-page 2009 Saint Paul Almanac is on sale now for .95 online at saintpaulalmanac.com, and will be available in mainstream bookstores, including Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Amazon.com on September 1st, in time for the Republican National Convention, during which 50,000 new visitors are expected to descend upon the city.

Apart from its obvious function as a travel guidebook, the Almanac aims to preserve individual and community stories, welcome newcomers into Saint Paul’s yeasty mixture of communities through writing, and produce what will amount to a collective, communal memory for Saint Paul.

They say community is dead, the book is dead, and story lies dying. Editor Kimberly Nightingale, schooled most recently at the Hubert Humphrey Institute of the University of Minnesota says, “Not in Saint Paul. All my experiences have taught me that place matters deeply. Stories matter. Stories may be as important as food for survival.”

This realization coalesced into the vision Nightingale had for creating a book about living in St. Paul as defined by time (the calendar) and combining that with articles, stories, and poems that reflect on the city in a more timeless way.

“My hope is that the Almanac begins a conversation between people about what the place they live in means to them.”

The Saint Paul Almanac solicits and revels in the work of authors and poets, including Saint Paul’s most prominent writers. There are contributions from baseball fanatics; hot rodders; quirky Rangers (the Minnesota term for sturdy northerners from the cold Mesabi Iron Range); and newcomers from as far afield as Cambodia, Somalia, Mexico, Ethiopia, and the Twin Cities’ equally exotic distant suburbs.

The Almanac offers something for everything–a range of short stories, essays, mild political screeds, immigration tales, memoirs, and calendar of events that has not seen its parallel since the subscription omnigatherums of the late nineteenth century. Its variety makes the Almanac great reading for the bedside table, the deck, or the outdoor coffee house.

Writers’ contributions charm and win the trust of readers through attentiveness to the tales they tell. Most of the Almanac’s editorial selections are excursions into neighborhood, family, or personal history, whose enjoyment lies in their modesty and detail. You can almost hear a child nudging each writer forward: “And then what happened?!”

The result, as Minnesotans might put it, is “not so bad”—a plucky annual celebrating difference, similarity, wholeness, and weirdness.

ISBN: 978-0-9772651-4-5 368 pages, 5-3/16 x 8 inches, PB with layflat binding

“A practical, informative, and at times personal reference of all things St. Paul.” –City Pages

“A compendium of local event calendars, resources and tips, combined with personal stories, history and secrets. All that, and plenty of room to scribble your own plans, insights and lists.” –Star Tribune

N. California Foreclosures Up Eight Percent In February 2009

Mt. Pleasant, PA (PRWEB) March 26, 2009

Default Research (http://www.defaultresearch.com), the premier provider of preforeclosure real estate data in Northern California, is reporting that Notice of Defaults and Notice of Trustee Sales in the Northern California region increased approximately eight percent from February 2008 to February 2009. The counties with the highest percentage of households in foreclosure during the past twelve month period were Solano reaching 8.47 percent, Contra Costa with 7.88, and Sacramento at 7.42. For more detailed Northern California area foreclosure statistics listed by county, please visit http://market.defaultresearch.com.

“With California’s unemployment rate at 10.1 percent, well above the national average of 7.6 percent, we will continue to see foreclosure activity well into 2009,” said Serdar Bankaci, founder of Default Research. “That staggering jobless rate is directly tied to the approximately 4.8 percent of households that entered into foreclosure within the last 12 months in the region.”

Bankaci was encouraged, though, by the median home prices which seem to have leveled off in the past 60 days while inventories have been declining steadily since July of 2008. Additionally, the state is still waiting for the Mortgage Relief Plan and to see the trickle down effect of the stimulus bills.

“The stimulus money and a spike in consumer spending cannot come too soon for the business owners of Northern California,” said Bankaci, whose daily pre foreclosure lists, which also include commercial properties, are e-mailed directly to real estate professionals in the region. “As the economy continues to slump in the area and consumers spend less, businesses are being forced to close. We have begun to see more non-residential foreclosures occurring, including commercial and retail buildings.”

Bankaci explained that, when the commercial loans are due, property owners are unable to refinance, and that is contributing to the commercial foreclosure increase. In fact, the number of commercial foreclosures in the Default Research coverage areas increased approximately 35 percent from January 2009 to February 2009. However, the new commercial properties present a new avenue for the well-informed Default Research clients to explore.

“Although banks may not be lending money now, private equity may come into play when financing commercial projects,” said Bankaci. “Many experts predict that, with the hefty economic stimulus plans going into effect, consumer confidence will begin to rise again in late 2009 and 2010. This in turn would result in more businesses opening and commercial properties increasing in value.”

Below is a unique and accurate local look at how the Default Research foreclosure statistics (February 2009) affect your area:

Alameda Foreclosures – Hardest hit cities are Oakland (441), Hayward (285), San Leandro (124) Fremont (101) and Union City (76)

Contra Costa Foreclosures – Hardest hit cities are Antioch (267), Richmond (172), Concord (167), Brentwood (152) and Pittsburg (137)

Sacramento Foreclosures – Hardest hit cities are Sacramento (1443), Elk Grove (400), Citrus Heights (149), Rancho Cordova (82) and Folsom (70)

Santa Clara Foreclosures – Hardest hit cities are San Jose (906), Gilroy (80), Milpitas (50), Santa Clara (46) and Sunnyvale (38)

For more detailed Northern California foreclosure statistics listed by county, please visit http://market.defaultresearch.com.

If you would like to learn more about this topic, or schedule an interview with Serdar Bankaci, please contact Josh Chernikoff. “Get Booked Solid in 2009″ Boot Camp Offered to Women Business Owners Throughout New England

Concord, NH (PRWEB) April 2, 2009

The edge in these dark days of gloomy global economic reporting will be with those willing to shake off the pessimistic prognosticators and hunker down with clarity and discipline to do what is necessary to gain a loyal following of raving fans; planning and executing efficient and effective marketing to attract their ideal clients. Especially in difficult times, who you know, trust and like will trump the competition every time.

Get Booked Solid in 09 is the title of two-day Boot Camps offered by Book Yourself Solid® Certified Coach and Certified MasterMind Executive Coach™ Andrea Williams in cites throughout New England and down the East Coast in 2009.

“The daily doom and gloom is truly dispiriting to solopreneurs and small business owners who struggle to make their marketing work even in good times,” says Andrea Williams. “I decided it was important to provide women business owners with a quick immersion in proven marketing strategies and to share simple, strategic systems that will give them traction and pay off in increased revenues and increased satisfaction using processes that are natural and match one’s temperament and business focus.”

Much of the Boot Camp content is based on the best-selling book by Michael Port, Book Yourself Solid. But beyond theory and conceptual framework, Williams will provide templates, mind maps, and specific “take action” plans to kick-start participants’ marketing efforts… before the two days of training are complete. All of it is based on strengths and preferences; as Williams notes, “you won’t do it if you hate it.”

The two-day Boot Camps are designed to map out a clear but flexible business and marketing plan that will guide women business owners to greater success. Day one will establish a strong foundation defining ideal clients and personal brand, followed by determining customized sales cycles and information products and services that will support a specific business. Day two will be all about marketing strategies; selecting those that will make the greatest impact and creating scripts and systems to keep administration simple.

Several weeks following each Boot Camp, each participant will have access to a 30-minute check-in session with Andrea Williams to assess progress and make appropriate adjustments.

Details about dates and locations are being finalized, but likely venues include Andover, MA; Worcester, MA; Concord, NH; West Lebanon, NH; Manchester, NH; Portland, ME, Burlington, VT; and Hartford, CT. Each Boot Camp will be limited to 15 participants. Williams is also open to customizing the Boot Camp for special interest groups. She can be reached at (603) 478-1388.

“Twilight” movie stars Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene to Attend TwiCon 2009 Fan Convention in Dallas

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 27, 2008

Fans of the fictional Cullen family of the Twilight series of books will have a chance to meet two of their movie equivalents at the TwiCon 2009 fan convention.

Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, who will portray siblings Emmett and Alice Cullen in the much-anticipated “Twilight” movie due in theatres next month, have agreed to meet fans and appear at TwiCon – expected to be the largest of the fan conventions dedicated to the Stephenie Meyer books. The news was announced during a BlogTV broadcast by Twilight Vlog and YouTube personality Bailey (NoMoreMarbles) this evening from the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and Convention Center, the host site of TwiCon 2009.

More than 2,500 devotees of the Twilight series are expected to descend on Dallas July 30-Aug. 2, 2009, to celebrate their devotion to the vampire romance series. Organizers of TwiCon 2009 previously announced that Mike Welch (starring as Mike Newton in the Summit Entertainment film); series expert Bailey (NoMoreMarbles); band Bella Cullen Project; Kaleb the Twilight Guy; and parody group The Evil Igaunas will appear as special guests at the fan fest.

“Adding Kellan and Ashley to the bill further solidifies TwiCon 2009′s position as THE fan event to attend next year,” said Becky Scoggins, managing partner of the TwiCon event. “We are excited about the opportunity to bring the books and movie to life for fans and expect to announce more special guests in the coming weeks.”

TwiCon 2009 is the premiere unofficial conference celebrating Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight saga. The event is expected to feature a Twilight movie screening, live Twilight inspired band performances, a Volturi Masque Ball, opportunities to meet Twilight cast, dozens of breakout sessions, panels, workshops and more, as well as a Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will offer items and collectibles inspired by the Twilight books and movie. The event also will feature an Artists’ Alley fan exhibition of handmade art and goods.

TwiCon organizers will actively be promoting the summer conference during the “Twilight” premiere weekend Nov. 15-18. Vlogger Bailey and others will share the red carpet with the cast and crew at the Hollywood premiere; and will be panelists at a special Twilight Live podcast — hosted by TwiCon partner Becka and featuring a live audience and a slew of special guests, including Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, Mike Welch, Kaleb and MTV personality Larry Carroll — at the Borders bookstore in Westwood.

All-inclusive tickets for the convention are 5 and available at http://www.TwiCon.org. Tickets have been selling briskly and organizers expect all 2,500 tickets to be snapped up quickly, Scoggins said.

Concord, Massachusetts (PRWEB) July 6, 2009

Boston-area video producer DigiNovations has won nine awards for its work for five clients in the 30th Annual TELLY Awards, an international competition whose winners were announced during the past week. The awards honor the best work of the most respected ad agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. DigiNovations productions selected for honors from nearly 11,000 entries included work for Boston College, Boston College Law School, Appalachian Mountain Club, Global Furniture, and NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America).

“It’s important to benchmark DigiNovations’ work periodically against that of other leading video production companies, and I’m pleased that we compare favorably,” said executive producer Michael Kolowich. “What’s even more important, though, is that every one of these productions is delivering results for our clients every day — in the form of online video, at live events and presentations, or on DVD.”

The documentary film “Light the World”, produced for Boston College’s 150th anniversary campaign, captured the competition’s top award, a Silver Telly Award for Corporate Image Productions, as well as an additional Bronze TELLY Award for Fundraising Video Productions. Produced by Michael Kolowich, Lee Phillips, and Barry Ouellette, the film captures the spirit and culture of service at Boston College through interviews with eight alumni whose work has changed the world in some meaningful way. Bill Charette was the Director of Photography for this production, and Mike Chapman and Michael Kolowich were the post-production editors. View “Light the World”.

A documentary film on the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Maine Woods Initiative was honored three times in this year’s TELLY Awards. The film won Bronze TELLY honors for Nature/Wildlife productions and for Charitable/Non-Profit Productions. The videography of DigiNovations Director of Photography, Bill Charette, was also honored with a Bronze TELLY for Cinematography/Videography. The AMC film submitted was the first in a series of films that DigiNovations has produced documenting the club’s extraordinary preservation effort in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness — the last hundred miles of the Appalachian Trail. The film was produced by Bob Roche and edited by Mike Chapman. View “Maine Woods Initiative” on the AMC website.

A documentary film called “Save the Dream”, about the efforts of a community advocacy and homeownership organization called NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America) won two TELLY Awards. The film won Bronze TELLY recognition for Social Issues productions and for Charitable/Non-Profit productions. The film chronicles the background and success of a the innovative “Save the Dream” events in cities across America, in which homeowners with unaffordable mortgages can renegotiate or restructure their home mortgages and keep their homes. Produced by DigiNovations’ Mont Fennel and Michael Kolowich, filmed principally by Director of Photography Bill Charette, and edited by Dan Roth and Michael Kolowich, the film features numerous stories of homeowners whose lives were changed by the “Save the Dream” process. View “Save the Dream” on the NACAmedia YouTube channel.

The story of Canada’s Global Furniture is documented in another TELLY winner from DigiNovations, the recipient of a Bronze TELLY for Corporate Image. The film tells the story of a young furniture with an idea of how to make an inexpensive office chair, and how he grew the company into one of the most prominent designers and builders of office furniture in North America. The film was produced by Barry Ouellette, filmed by Bill Charette, and edited by Mike Chapman. View the film on Global Furniture.

Finally, a film for Boston College Law School was honored with a Bronze TELLY for Fundraising Video productions. Echoing the themes of the “Light the World” film that DigiNovations produced earlier for Boston College, the BC Law film profiles alumni who have used their legal education in service of a better world. The film was produced by Bob Roche, filmed by Bill Charette, and edited by Mike Chapman. View the film for Boston College Law School.

Eurocamp – New in France 2009

Northwich, Cheshire (PRWEB) January 18, 2009

With the freedom and flexibility of a Eurocamp holiday, there’s no better way for families to experience the real France. And with new parcs and accommodation – as well as an even greater offering for toddler holidays – there’s never been a better time than 2009 to take an unforgettable Eurocamp holiday.

The UK’s leading European camping holiday operator, Eurocamp has added two stunning, very different new destinations to its collection of 47 French parcs.

Criques de Porteils, Languedoc

Cirques de Porteils, in Collioure, provides the backdrop for the perfect Mediterranean camping holiday. Nestled on a rocky Languedoc cove on the southernmost coastline of France, this small, truly authentic parc is the most stunning setting for a cultural, relaxing holiday. It boasts several small private beaches – making it ideal for sunbathing and snorkeling.

Reflective of its beautiful surroundings – and with the origins of Catalan ‘art de vivre’ based in Collioure – Criques de Porteils also runs art classes for adults.

The parc is just a short walk into the stunning town of Collioure, with a number of seafood restaurants it’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. Alternatively holidaymakers way wish to take a short drive away to the larger nearby resorts and attractions of Argelès Plage.

Le Village Parisien, Varreddes

Just 11 miles away from Disneyland® Resort Paris – and a half-hour train ride from the centre of the French capital – Le Village Parisien brings Eurocamp closer than ever to the City of Lights.

Located in Varreddes, on the banks of the River Marne, Le Village Parisien provides a charming, great value camping experience near the picturesque environs of a city more renowned for its costly hotels and fast pace.

Combining thrills, spills and bright lights with a stunning natural setting, it’s also perfect for those after a more authentic camping experience who want enjoy both the great outdoors – fishing, walking along the river or cycling along the canal two-path opposite – with lots of attractions nearby.

Take to the road in a motorhome

With more people than ever choosing a motorhome holiday, Eurocamp has introduced this exciting getaway option for 2009 – allowing you to discover all of France’s hidden treasures.

With a celebrity following – reportedly enjoyed by the likes of Jamie Oliver, Jenson Button and Take That’s Mark Owen – four-wheeled holidays combine the freedom of the open road with all the home comforts.

With eleven pick up and drop off points across France – plus the freedom to move across borders – Europe is so accessible. So tailor-make a trip that takes in beach, country and even city destinations, exploring all those places you’ve always dreamed of visiting in one unique holiday.

Decide on a starting point and work with Eurocamp to select the first parc. After that it’s over to the individual’s choice – using a fully-comprehensive parc directory and booking guide and stay wherever is preferred en-route or plan ahead and pre-book a pitch reservation.

Holiday Villages

Eurocamp are also offering holidaymakers the option to stay at an amazing collection of hand picked family friendly apartments in authentic French locations – Eurocamp Holiday Village’s, which are committed to providing first rate facilities, beautiful locations and holidays that are full of local colour.

Tumble Tots launch

Eurocamp has also launched a new initiative, perfect for those with small children. As of this spring, Tumble Tots – Britain’s leading physical play programme – will provide sessions at seven of Eurocamp’s ‘Toddler Friendly’ parcs in the Vendée and Brittany regions of France.

Both regions are ideally suited to family holidays due to their gentle summers, beautiful sandy beaches and close proximity to the Channel ports – which means easy accessibility from the UK and less time travelling.

New for 2009 – Free swimming lessons

And for those little ones who like to splash about, this year Eurocamp has also teamed up with the world largest swim teaching and lifesaving organization (Swimming Teachers’ Association) to give little ‘Eurocampers’ a fantastic opportunity to learn to swim while on holiday.

The courses cater for ages from birth to five years, with 30 minute sessions running almost every day – a great way for children to enjoy the fantastic swimming pool facilities the designated Eurocamp parcs.
